NIIC 2017 will take place at the Phoenix Convention Center (West Building), located in the heart of downtown Phoenix. All NIIC session take place at the Convention Center unless otherwise noted. NIIC access badges are required to enter all NIIC sessions and spaces. The Convention Center is located just 1.5 blocks from the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel, where many NIIC participants are staying during the conference. The Convention Center is also easily accessible by ValleyMetro Light Rail. There are multiple parking lots at the Convention Center and nearby hotel and municipal lots (all for a fee) -- see here for more parking information.

NIIC's discounted block at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel, located a short and pleasant 1.5 block walk from the Convention Center, is now sold out. No further rooms are available at the Renaissance.

There are numerous other properties across Phoenix, including some within walking distance of the Convention Center and others a short light-rail commute away. We can't wait to see you at NIIC!

Located in the heart of downtown Phoenix, the hotel is easily accessible by cab or ValleyMetro light rail and features a rooftop swimming pool, fitness center, Starbucks, two restaurants (Dust Cutter and Marston’s Café), a gift shop and a full service FedEx Office business center. Numerous local restaurants and bars are located in the surrounding blocks.

Does NIIC provide hotel rooms?

Does NIIC provide travel support for conference attendees?

No, NIIC has a limited pool of scholarships available but there is no general travel support for attendees. NIIC's limited scholarships will be awarded in advance of the conference. See below for more information.

Does NIIC have an airline partner?

Not at this time. We welcome ideas about such partnerships; if you are interested in exploring this with NIIC, please contact cynthia@promiseaz.org.

Are there scholarship opportunities?

NIIC's limited scholarships will be awarded in advance of the conference. We are no longer accepting applications at this time and regret that we are unable to meet all of the over 100 requests we received.

Are youth/children able to attend?

NIIC’s programming is not focused on youth/children. Young people may attend but minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Is childcare available?

No, NIIC is unfortunately not able to provide childcare during the conference.

Are NIIC spaces accessible for those with disabilities?

Yes, the NIIC spaces are wheelchair accessible.

Is interpretation available at NIIC?

Yes, NIIC provides interpretation support for monolingual Spanish speakers. We provide simultaneous interpretation in all NIIC mainstage sessions and work with registrants on their needs in other NIIC sessions. Interpretation for other languages and ASL interpretation support are evaluated based on demand; if you have additional questions, please contact cynthia@promiseaz.org.

Is NIIC open to the general public?

Yes, all are welcome to attend.

Is NIIC live-streamed?

Some NIIC sessions will be available via social media but details will not be available until November 2017.

Are NIIC presentations available by audio recording or video after the conference?

Some NIIC sessions will be available via social media but details will not be available until November 2017; it is unlikely that the bulk of NIIC sessions will be available, however.

Does NIIC provide meals?

NIIC provides the following meals to all those registered for the full conference or the days in question:

  • Sunday Dec 10 – Coffee break provided by NIIC; lunch and dinner on your own
  • Monday Dec 11 – Breakfast, lunch and coffee break provided by NIIC; dinner on your own
  • Tues Dec 12 – Breakfast and coffee break provided by NIIC; dinner on your own

All meals include vegetarian and vegan options. Kosher and Halal meals are only available upon advance request when registering for NIIC.
